Matt's Hot Dogs Privacy Policy

Matt's Hot Dogs only uses Personal Preference Information (PPI) to offer its customers information and discounts on products and dining ideas that a customer wants to hear about.

Personal Preference Information is collected by Matt's Hot Dogs when a customer voluntarily provides such information to Matt's Hot Dogs or a third party partner (web-hosting agency, merchandise fulfillment, or direct e-mailing firm) of Matt's Hot Dogs. PPI is personal information linked to an individual, such as name, e-mail address, zip code, gender, birth date, anniversary date, billing information, or lifestyle and personal interest information. If you do not want your personal information collected, please do not submit it.

Matt's Hot Dogs collects PPI when users respond to an advertisement, survey, register for email announcements or newsletters, register for product or dining discounts, or enter a sweepstakes promoted by Matt's Hot Dogs or its partners. In addition, selected third-party partners of Matt's Hot Dogs will share personal information with Matt's Hot Dogs about their consumers that have consented to the sharing of their personal information with third parties.

Matt's Hot Dogs gathers only the following personally identifiable PPI:

  • E-mail address
  • First name
  • Last name
  • Date of birth (optional)
Matt's Hot Dogs uses Personal Preference Information to:
  • Ensure that customers receive products and information that they request;
  • Deliver permission-based direct marketing messages, email newsletters and email advertisements based on a customer's expressed interests or on characteristics of similar customers; and
  • Deliver mailings or e-mail messages to those users that have submitted their e-mail addresses or postal addresses directly to Matt's Hot Dogs.

Matt's Hot Dogs does not collect sensitive personal information, such as medical information, personal information regarding sexual orientation or behavior, personal credit information, or personal information related to children under the age of 13 without proper parental consent.

We may use a third party service provider to provide a product or service on our behalf that you have requested, such as email announcements, advertising, promotions or newsletters. We require these service providers to agree to use personal information of subscribers only for the purposes of carrying out these operations and to adhere to the terms of this policy.

Matt's Hot Dogs or a third party acting on our behalf may monitor the readership levels of our HTML users to help identify aggregate trends in our service's usage so we can be sure that we are doing everything we can to create products that are of the highest value to our customers. We may recognize when the email was opened, which URLs were clicked and some information about the message the URL was found in to help identify aggregate trends in usage. We never share information about individual usage.

Collected Data is Not Shared
Matt's Hot Dogs does not sell or transfer the ownership of its PPI to unrelated third parties. Matt's Hot Dogs provides its third party partners with access to such information only on a very limited basis, and only with consent of its customers. Before any access is given to a third party partner, Matt's Hot Dogs also ensures that those partners with which it has contractual relationships publish and adhere to industry-standard privacy principles regarding the use of such information.

Matt's Hot Dogs will not share PPI with any third party if the customer indicates on the registration form or subsequent questionnaires the preference to limit the use of such information, or if such customer opts-out of Matt's Hot Dogs databases of PPI.

Matt's Hot Dogs will share or transfer ownership of its collected data if legally required to do so pursuant to law, court order or other governmental action or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Matt's Hot Dogs or others, or to verify billing information or detect credit card fraud. In addition, Matt's Hot Dogs may share its collected data with a third party in the event that the ownership of Matt's Hot Dogs is transferred to such third party via an acquisition, merger, sale of assets or otherwise.

In addition, Matt's Hot Dogs will provide access to collected PPI data only to those third-party partners that adhere to fair information practices for lawful, non-discriminatory purposes or the Online Privacy Alliance privacy principles.
