Matt's lets its dogs out

As
if the opening of Sweet Lorraine's wasn't enough of a thrill, I got
to break the happy news about Matt's Famous Chili Dogs to
my husband. As a Chicago native, he sneers each time I eat one of
those terrific
cheap kosher dogs at Costco. He thinks a hot dog's not a hot dog
unless it's a Vienna Beef product topped with an ungodly shade of neon-green
relish, tomatoes, mustard, onions, a kosher dill, those nasty little "sport
peppers" and a hefty shake of celery salt. Which is exactly
why he can often be found standing in line at the original Matt's
Famous
Chili Dogs at 6615 E. Marginal Way S., Seattle; 206-768-0418. (There's
also a sister shop at 699 110th Ave. N.E. Bellevue; 425-637-2858.)
Word
that his favorite hot-dog seller, Matt Jones, is opening a third outlet
five minutes from our front door was big news in my house indeed.
And unlike the original Seattle stand, which keeps bankers hours,
this one will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Due to open this
weekend,
Matt's Lynnwood store (7600 - 196th St. S.W; 206-776-3220) will make
its home kitty-comer and dangerously close to Ezell's Famous Chicken.
